Your planet needs you!
Once the garbos empty our bins each week, we tend not to think about where our waste goes, or the impact it has on the planet. And let’s be honest, nobody really likes to think about rubbish (pee-ew!). But as a result, waste remains a major cultural blindspot in Australia, and throughout the developed world.
With a focus on domestic waste, Your Planet Needs You! is a positive primer on waste – where it comes from, where it ends up, and what we can all do to help reduce our rubbish. Optimistic in tone and illustrated primarily with [recycled] paper-cuts, Your Planet Needs You! is built from information accessible enough for the youngest minds to grasp, and simple enough for the rest of us to put into daily practice.
Your Planet Needs You! is published in Australia by Hardie Grant (May 2020), and is printed using soy-based inks on materials from sustainably managed sources. The book was shortlisted for the Goddard-CBC Social Justice Children’s Book Prize 2022.
Your Planet Needs You! is (or will soon be) published in Spain by RBA Libros, in Portugal by Editoria Booksmile, in Taiwan by Cite Publishing, in Germany by Random House, in Korea by Book Good Come, in the Netherlands by Uitgeverij De Fontein, in the USA by Bloomsbury, in France by ECLY, in Italy by Nomos, in Arabic by Hamad Bin Khalif University Press, and in Japan by Kobunsha.
